Featured IPO CD Artist: The Morning Line

IPO Vol 20 CD Song: “All Mine”

1) What was the reason you chose the song you did for the IPO CD?

It’s maybe the most melodically complex song on our new record “Smoke,” and full of 12-string, which always makes me happy.

2) If you could play your dream gig, which other three to four artists would be on the bill with you? They can be living, defunct, or dead.

The Records, Buffalo Springfield, Dream Syndicate, and Elvis Costello. And about 175 other bands.

3) Which artists are you/your band most inspired by?

After so many years of music listening, there are so many answers. Neil Young is probably my go-to. But right now, there’s a band from Dayton (not GBV!) called Motel Beds that has really been affecting my music writing.

4) What is your favorite part about playing IPO and/or being on the IPO CD?

Hearing things that are completely new for me. IPO curates great stuff that has somehow stayed under the radar.

5) How can people who fall in love with your song on the IPO CD get more of your music and find out about any gigs you’re playing?

Any streaming/download service they use, or bandcamp for free downloads.

Featured IPO CD Artist: The Jeremy Band

IPO Vol 20 CD Song: “Blow My Mind”

1) What was the reason you chose the song you did for the IPO CD?

I wanted to do a new song …So we quickly recorded “Blow my Mind” by The Jeremy Band for the IPO cd. This is actually the demo version of the song. So this version will be exclusive to the IPO cd only and unavailable anywhere else. Recently the album version of “Blow my Mind” has been recorded for the upcoming new album “Joy Comes in the Morning” by the Jeremy Band. This version is much different from the original.

2) If you could play your dream gig, which other three to four artists would be on the bill with you? They can be living, defunct, or dead.

1. The Beatles
2. The Byrds
3. Barclay James Harvest
Notice they all start with B.

3) Which artists are you/your band most inspired by?

I am inspired by so many that it’s a never ending process….The B bands are always a great place to start though…Byrds , Beatles, Big Star, Badfinger, Barclay James Harvest , Beach Boys, Bee Gees (the original band )

4) What is your favorite part about playing IPO and/or being on the IPO CD?

My favorite part is all of it. The friendships and the relationships are so wonderful and life changing! And playing for people who “get it” is very satisfying.
