IPO vol 27 CD Information – Europe

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you know about this year’s IPO CD, because it’s an excellent opportunity for exposure and something in which hopefully you’ll be interested.

As we’ve done each year of IPO, there will be an International Pop Overthrow CD released in 2026, and I’m proud to announce that it will be our twenty-seventh compilation, celebrating 27 years of IPO! Last year’s compilation in 2025 was a 3 CD set with 66 tracks, and it received rave reviews in several quarters, including Powerpopaholic and (shortly) Goldmine Magazine!

It also served as a wonderful promotional tool for the artists who submitted tracks, giving them exposure to many pop music fans, as well as creating opportunities and inroads to labels, promoters, radio play, etc. A big thank you goes to everyone who submitted tracks for our last compilation. It truly was a great one!

…and we’re proud to announce that we’re back with the esteemed label, Omnivore Recordings, for our sixth year! We’re honored to be partners with Omnivore, and I’d like to thank Cheryl Pawelski, Brad Rosenberger and Dutch Cramblitt of Omnivore for having us once again! Omnivore has long been known for their wonderful reissues, but they’ve also dived headlong into current music as well, with excellent releases from Chris Price, Derrick Anderson, Pugwash, Jeffrey Gaines, and Cait Brennan, among others! Omnivore has wonderful distribution and will get the IPO CD into stores all around the world, and they always do an excellent job of spreading the word about their releases to various media outlets. Our partnership with Omnivore paid major dividends the past few years, as the IPO CD sold out, or came very close, within months, something that had never happened prior to our joining forces with them! This is because the IPO CD had a much wider reach than it ever had before!

We will once again be pressing 2,000 copies of the IPO CD; as in past years, 1,000 will be given out to those who attend the IPO Los Angeles festival. We will also be sending copies to the media and to several Music Supervisors I know. Additionally, we will send copies to each of the artists who contribute a track. Most of the remaining copies will be sold via Omnivore, whom you can find at http://omnivorerecordings.com.

This year’s IPO compilation will also be available at all the usual online music retail sites that we’ve used in the past, such as Kool Kat Musik ( http://www.koolkatmusik.com) and Jam Recordings (http://www.jamrecordings.com/) the two leading pop music online mail order companies in the world!

This is all truly exciting, and is going to help your IPO song and other music that you have created to receive a higher profile in the pop music community!!

But wait, there’s more:

I, along with my partner Rina Bardfield, will interview everyone who has a track on the IPO CD, and this interview will appear on the IPO website (https://internationalpopoverthrow.com/category/blog/ipo-cd-artist-interviews/)! This interview will create Search Engine Optimization, so if anyone looks you up on Google or any other search engine, the interview will likely come up near the top of the first page!

I want to begin the process of accepting tracks for this year’s IPO CD. If you’re interested in having a track on the IPO CD, please send a wav file of your track via We Transfer or any similar service to my e-mail address of intlpop@earthlink.net , and $300 U.S. fee to my PayPal account. E-mail me for details.

Or, if you’d like, you can give me your track and payment at IPO Liverpool, Stockholm or Glasgow, depending upon which city you’re playing, but please let me know as soon as you can if you’d like to have your track on the IPO CD!

Or, if you’d rather snail mail everything, let me know and I will give you my address.

The payment you submit will go towards the manufacturing of the CD, as well as for promotion of the International Pop Overthrow festival in the local media, as it has in previous years.

Exchange Rate: As of June 1, 2026: $300 U.S. Dollars is equal to £223.67, €258.41 and Kr2798.97

Please note: we will continue to accept tracks until there is no longer space available on the CD. If for whatever reason we do not use your track, both your track and payment will be returned to you immediately.

If you tell me that you are going to have your track on the IPO CD, you don’t have to send in track and payment right way; you can send them anytime between now and the deadline, which is Wednesday, June 17. However, if you do say you’re going to be included, please don’t back out.

This is not an audition; you have the right to choose whichever track you’d like to have on the IPO CD, and I will include it. Of course, if you want me to suggest a track I am certainly happy to do so.

Being on the IPO CD will be a great investment of your time and money because it serves as a wonderful promotional tool for the artists who submit tracks, giving you exposure to many pop music fans, as well as creating opportunities and inroads to labels, promoters, etc.

You as the artist have complete freedom as to which track you’d like to place on the IPO CD. It can either be a track from a CD you’ve previously released, one you’re going to be releasing, or an exclusive track. Of course, we like the last one best. 😊

Artists who have appeared on previous IPO CDs, as well as first time artists, are certainly encouraged to place tracks.

The deadline for track placement and payment is Wednesday, June 17. This will give both IPO and Omnivore time to do the necessary promotion, as well as allow IPO to get the manufacturing done in ample time to have the CD ready by Opening Night of IPO Los Angeles, which is August 7.

So, to recap, for your $300 U.S. payment, this is what you get:

1. 2000 copies of the IPO CD, featuring your track, will be printed.

2. 1000 copies will be handed out free to attendees at the Los Angeles IPO Festival.

3. Several copies will be sent to Music Supervisors, various media, label honchos, and pop radio outlets.

4. Each band will receive four copies of the IPO CD-solo artists will receive two copies.

5. The rest of the copies will be publicized and sold through the Omnivore website, along with record shops all over the world!

6. An interview with you, the artist, which will appear on the International Pop Overthrow website!

All these exciting benefits here are going to ensure that this year’s IPO compilation will fill up soon, so please make sure you get in touch with me ASAP and reserve your spot for Volume 27!

For those of you who do send a track, I thank you very much, in advance.

Sincerely,

David Bash
